Glenn, we watched “Who Killed Robert Wone” last night. WOWWWWW! It was riveting and intense, and we enjoyed following your prosecutorial insight through the twists & turns. I can’t wait to hear more about your cases. 🕵️♂️
I think I’m a paid subscriber and sometimes I can leave a comment and sometimes I can’t…Being told that it’s only for paid subscribers! At any rate, I just wanna say I’m looking forward to these anecdotes that you will share because there’s usually something to learn in the ones that I’ve heard from you so far. I know you asked for our opinions on this. Was it just last night! And that was one of the situations where I could not leave a comment. But I would love to hear these stories however, I also would not want to lose what you have been doing for so many months now on your regular podcasts. So hopefully you can strike a workable balance between these two things.
Also, I just wanted to brag a little bit about having recently completed my one year Service on a federal grand jury. I live in the Los Angeles County area and I was the fore person! I want to say that I was impressed not only with the AUSA’s , but I was really impressed with my brother and sister jurors. Surely we would complain each time of having to come in, but when the proceedings got going, all these people paid very close attention, and when it was our opportunity to ask questions they asked penetrating and relevant and useful questions. And when we would have discussion before we took our vote, they would share meaningful comments. So when I would go with the attorney to present the true bills to the magistrate judge, even though I’m sure I wasn’t really expected to do this, and maybe even wasn’t supposed to do it after the attorney had said his spiel and the judge had formally thanked us. I would use the microphone that was available to me and say basically what I’ve just told you. Because I figured hey I’m a senior citizen, I’ve worked hard on my life and service to others, I get to speak up lol
Great to hear about your experience as a grand juror. I loved our grand jury practice. My experiences were like yours, the grand jurors were always so engaged, professional, thoughtful, and dedicated to getting to the right decision.
Glenn, you are a storyteller! That is your gift!! When you add a legal degree and a 30yr career as a federal prosecutor, you are made for true crime. Wish you had your own show “True Crime With Glenn Kirschner”. You would absolutely give Joe Kenda a run for his money!! You explain things so well in a way an average person can readily comprehend, you are passionate about the law and you have a humility about you that is rare. Thank you for devoting so much of your time to us! I’m very grateful you are on Team Justice and not team Trump. I think we’d all be in way bigger trouble if you weren’t batting for our team!!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
And Carol, what often happens is that Substack doesn't open up the meeting all at once for everyone like Zoom does....and there is no waiting room. I sit here at 10 minutes prior, 5 minutes prior, waiting for the meeting notice to start. By the time I get on, there are several hundred people already there. It's frustrating.
Thanks for the info Claire. I was late tonight ¬iced the ‘Live’ badge on Glenn’s icon; next time, I’ll keep an eye out to see if that shows up before the notice goes out ;-p
Yes, once the "LIVE" icon shows up, we are live, but that doesn't show up early. Technically, it seems that the LIVE icon appears at the same time the email notice goes out, but it doesn't always work this way. Honestly, finding Glenn every night is such a chore and I don't know why it has to be this way. I don't have this problem with any other Substack I follow (and it's a lot these days.)
One other note: Be sure to go to your Notifications settings on Substack and then go to LIVE -- you can click on email or Push to receive notices. I checked both for Glenn.
Another note (Yes this does drive me crazy!). It seems that whatever notices I do receive appear faster and more consistently on my phone than my laptop, but I like to watch on my laptop. So, I usually have both open.
Good chat this evening. Could relate to the cell phone saga. As a defense attorney investigating the theft of my own cell phone from the court house in the early oughts (although the carrier says deactivate) I looked up and called every number the perp called.
Got him first by dialing my own number. When he hung up on me, called his ex-wife and mom. One of them got through to him because he brought it in to my office rather sheepishly. I told him I DEFEND the people & didn’t want to see him in court again. Definitely tweaker though, because the list of calls went ‘round the clock. He seemed to return it with an old battery from God knows where. I digress! 😂
Good show! Looking forward to more Saturday night chats.
I think I’m late to this but the case of Robert Wone is the most infuriating true crime case ever. I listened to you on the podcast The Consult with Julia Cowley. You were great. You are great!
It IS Trump’s DUTY To UPHOLD Our DEMOCRACY, Our CONSTITUTION & Our LAWS. He is our EMPLOYEE. Witkoff is a RUSSIAN ASSET doing Putin’s bidding. He should be ARRESTED for TREASON. We did NOT elect him‼️ Kushner is meeting and doing business with foreign dignitaries & should be arrested as well. We did NOT elect him‼️ (Call NY AG James). Get busy & CALL!

Yes! Is there a way to jump on these community meetings early or do we need to wait for your notice saying it’s live?
I think you have to wait until I initiate the line session.

If this isn't devotion, I don't know what it is!

so glad we are hearing true crime tonight. Of course we are living with true crime 24-7 these days...
Waiting for 8:30. See you then. And I commented on the post from yesterday with the link. I had a theory.
Dropped a UTube link in last night’s video of a guy that might be an AI of you?? Not sure. I can’t find it now to drop link here.
Looking forward to it 😸
